What is BillZone Systems?

12-Jun-2020
The right question here might be, "what WAS BillZone Systems?"

BillZone was a fully featured project management tracking solution that was developed by MacKenzie & MacKenzie, starting around 2002. It was a fully featured, secure SaaS system that had components written in Microsoft ASP.Net, ASP Classic, and SQL Server. It finished supporting customers in 2018 and was taken offline after more than a decade.

The system underwent many changes during its lifetime, eventually supporting a complex project billing pattern that few project managment invoicing solutions can support even today. This included projects with multiple versions for each client contract allowing consultant rate changes part-way through a project spanning several years.

BillZone had a complete set of reporting made available via a propritetary web-based pdf reporting system, and the invoice and supporting information package was called "the gold standard" in invoice documentation by one of our customer's clients!

BillZone was taken offline for public use in 2018 after over a decade in use, waiting on upgrade work that will make it work better in today's environments.

We made a short demo video more than 10 years ago. Listen to this guy pitch it!
